Hi, my name is Solange.  I’m Portuguese but speak fluent English.  I’m really excited to have joined the Afrotherapy team and I’m looking forward to meet you. 

What Do You Love Most About Hairdressing?
I like the fact that I know that I can contribute to a person’s self-esteem. I think that when we feel beautiful, we are happier. 

What Has Been Your Journey Into Hairdressing?
As far back as I can remember, I have always been involved in hair and hairdressing runs through our family.  I remember my mum doing hair when I was young in Portugal and I used to assist her.  When I moved to the UK, I pursued hairdressing working in East London for a number of years.  It’s where I met my partner who is a Barber.  
I’m really happy to be part of Team Afrotherapy and to learn more skills and develop further.  My ultimate dream is to create a salon like Afrotherapy in Portugal within the next few years.

Qualifications & Training:
Currently doing Level 3 Hairdressing at City & Islington College

What Do You Particularly Enjoy Doing?
Single braids, Cornrows, Extensions, Box Braids.  Show me a picture and I can usually achieve it for you.

I consider myself to be versatile with attention to detail. I have the skills to work with all hair types and styles, ensuring each client gets a look that suits them perfectly.  I take the time to listen, understand their vision, and bring it to life with precision and care. My passion for hairdressing goes beyond just plaiting and weaving it’s about building confidence, making people feel their best, and providing a warm, welcoming experience every time.
Being Portuguese, I also bring the Portuguese passion into my work.
